OBCF is owned and operated by Fran Spine, a nurse with extensive experience in practice management and oncology billing with over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry.  She is a Certified Coding Specialist-physician based (CCS-p), Certified Hematology Oncology Coder (CHONC); Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) and an AAPC Professional.

Fran attended Somerset County Vocational Technical School, Raritan Valley Community College and trained for all her billing certifications through AAPC and AHIMA.

Fran began her career in the Oncology specialty when she assisted a physician with the opening of his Hematology/Oncology practice.   She then moved on to be the Billing Supervisor of a large Hematology/Oncology practice.  Later an opportunity became available and Fran then became the Practice Administrator of a  Hematology/Oncology practice.   She was in that position for almost four years before opening her own business.

Fran also consults with many private Hematology/Oncology practices on reimbursement and practice management. She is well known nationwide for her expertise, knowledge, and dependability for the community oncology practice.  Fran was a former Board of Director of the New Jersey Society of Oncology Managers (NJSOM) including President and Secretary.  She is also a past President of the Hematology Oncology Leadership Network (HOLN) and is a current member of National Oncology Society Network (NOSN).

Jonathan Corona, CPB has been with OBCF for 4 years where he started in Patient Accounts and is now Billing Supervisor. Jonathan has a certification in HVAC which he obtained while studying at Somerset County Technical Institute. He also has obtained the Certified Professional Biller certification through AAPC. Jonathan enjoys being outside camping, fishing, and hiking with his dog Cooper, who is OBCF’s mascot.

Hilda joined Oncology Billing & Consultant Firm on May 2012 and serves as an Accounts Receivable Specialist.  Prior to joining Oncology Billing & Consultant Firm, Hilda spent years in building her knowledge in Revenue Cycle Management.  She worked 12 years with Doctors Billing Services, Inc. as Director of Operations, where she expanded her skills in revenue cycle assessments, improvement and redesigning.  Besides holding knowledge in oncology and hematology, she holds knowledge in anesthesia, radiology, internal medicine, pathology, neurology, orthopedic and cardiology.  She managed New York based anesthesia groups with yearly revenues of 96 million. She has successfully won settlements of unprocessed claims from Managed Care Organizations through the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance as well as other states Department of Banking and Insurance.

Hilda was born in Isabela De Sagua Las Villa, Cuba and grew up in a well diverse and exciting city of Union City, New Jersey.  She graduated from Emerson High School and attended Hudson County Community College with a 3.8 GPA.  She is the mother of two young men, Luis Alberto attending Rutgers University and Miguel Angel attending Hudson County Community College.

Dora Powell is a Medical Claims Specialist and a 18 year veteran professional here at OBCF.  Dora’s vast experience includes education at the Somerset County Vocational Technical Institute, training at AAPC and is a qualified recipient of the Certified Hematology Oncology Coder Certification (CHONC).  Dora enjoys gardening, going to the Beach and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Samantha is a Medical Claims Specialist who has worked with OBCF since 2014. She is a Certified Hematology Oncology Coder (CHONC) through AAPC and is also the President of the AAPC Clinton, NJ Chapter. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family.

Carolyn received a bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of NJ in 2007 and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University in 2009.  Carolyn has been employed with OBCF since 2004.  In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys reading and photographing the world around her.

Joanne joined the OBCF team in 2019 and brings a wealth of knowledge with her from her previous medical practice experience.  Joanne is one of our claims biller and handles AR as well.

Mary Ann joined the OBCF team in May of 2018.  Mary Ann is a Certified Professional coder through AAPC.  She works on medical claims as well as patient accounts receivable.

Veronica is a long time employee of OBCF.  She started back in 2010 but left for a few years when she had her second child.  She came back in 2018 as an Administrative Assistant to Fran Spine.  Veronica also helps with the POHMS and CHOC organizations.

Kristin  started with OBCF in 2018 as a Part-time employee.  She has been a permanent Full-time employee since 2019.   Kristin has more than 10 years of medical practice experience.  Kristen primarily works on radiation and imaging claims as well as accounts receivables.

Cooper, OBCF’s office mascot, is a black lab mix.  He is five years old and has been the OBCF mascot for over two years.  Cooper enjoys his rest time while everyone else at OBCF is working hard.  But when it’s break time, Cooper will be the first to tell you!
